Photos Of Augsburg's Beautiful Zoo

Augsburg takes a very good care of animals and welcome to its famous Zoo. About 15 minutes away from the city (Moritzplatz), route number 32 takes you directly to the mini Animal planet.

What surprised me the most is the way Augsburgers take care of animals. The ambiance is just appropriate for each living creature here.

Its quiet and colourful. Take a look at some of the most recent clicks and a funny video of Augsburg Zoo.

Let me first introduce you to the entire forest setup

There are many marine animals such as Seals, Walruses and Penguins.

It also exhibits different types of birds from all over the world.

Flamingoes are too many in number here and we got to see them sleeping on one foot.

All in all, it was a wonderful experience for us and also a half day tour this summer.

Bird Photography - Our Best So Far..

Our visit to Bird Sanctuaries in India and World has helped us understand the feathery friends even better. These Bird photographs were well appreciated by our friends, family and that is why we thought of sharing them with everyone.

It isn't an easy thing to capture Birds as they fly away in a split of a second. They look busy with something and are not always ready to pose. The moment they find you with a black box, they get scared and escape from the scene. At times, we even tried to mute the sound of the flash to get the closest possible shot.

The photos were taken in Shimoga, Goa, Bhadra Wildlife, Australia and New Zealand. Have a look at them. (Photos By: Ranjan Benne, Harsha Benne And Deepthi Kiran)

Top 3 River Rafting Adventures In Karnataka

Apart from Fishing camps, Karnataka is also famous for river rafting adventures. Rafting is thrilling, refreshing and a prominent group adventure activity. We have specified 3 popular spots out of many others because of its safety facilities and upgraded equipments for thrilling rapids.

Rivers like Kali And Kaveri have blessed the State with immense scenic beauty and adventure attractions with natural gradients. Today, I shall share our team's experience with River Rafting in Karnataka. Take a look for more information.

Top 3 River Rafting Spots In Karnataka:

1. Dandeli - One of the most popular rafting spot in the north Karnataka. The roaring Kali river makes one feel that it is not just fresh water rafting but RIP water rafting. There are about 3-4 rapids and the final one being most thrilling. It is quite a challenging and recreational activity. Travellers plan their stay in the Jungle resorts and enjoy the adventure with the other activities such as Safari, Boating and Bird watch.

How To Reach: Dandeli is about 480 kms from Bangalore. You can take a Flight or Train to Belgaum or rent a car from the capital city.

2. Barapole - One of the best White water rafting spots in Southern India. The Coorg adventure can also be called fresh water rafting as the river takes birth in the same region. At Barapole, you have well trained North East Indian experts who train you rightly in the short time available and help you enjoy the adventure. The sport is managed by the estate owners of the region.

After a 4 rapid adventure, you are offered a cup of hot tea and campfire that makes you feel so good that you simply have to experience.

At Barapole, you can experience a home away from home feel.

3. Dubare - The Elephant camp is also a popular fishing camp. There are lot of activities to do in Dubare. The first part would be rafting followed by Elephant rides and much more. The rafting is supposed to be the longest and reasonably priced compared to other Rafting spots. Although it is crowded, the place is a nice getaway on weekends and also as a picnic point.

How To Reach: Both Barapole And Dubare are in Coorg which is about 260 kms from Bangalore.

Tourists can hire a taxi or rent a car to these rafting spots.

Best Travel Photo Of The October Edition

The caves of Badami (Karnataka) is also a home for Monkeys and my brother got to click this fantastic photograph. Although we apologize our ancestors for intruding privacy, we are equally fortunate to understand the genuinity, the passion for each other that we hardly get to see in the real world. With this, the evolution theory seems justified?

Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, Kerala

Surprisingly, many wildlife sanctuaries are just a few hours away from Bangalore. Ranganathittu, Taavare Bellur bird sanctuaries, Bandipur and Nagarahole wildlife, Mudumalai and Wayanad wildlife are comparatively close to the Karnataka's capital than any other Indian cities.

Bangalore is a heaven for weekend travellers as there are many historical, wildlife and waterfall attractions around. Recently, our Bangalore cousins visited the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary (Tholpetty Range) where they stayed in the Wayanad Jungle Retreat resorts (Machan).

At Wayanad, you can see Elephants, Bisons, Deers, Lemurs and many more unseen creatures. For photographers, this is a favourite den. Here are some photos of the visit. (Courtesy: Anuradha Sachidev)
