Glimpse Of Frankfurt Auto Show 2013 (IAA)

One of the biggest Auto shows of the planet, yes, we were at the Frankfurt IAA 2013 (Internationale Automobil Austellung).

About a thousand brands of cars were showcased...with cosmetics, tyres and lots more. We could see all range..from the most expensive Jaguar to the least expensive BMW Cycles...from the biggest car like Tesla to the smallest Mercedes Smart...from USA's Ford to Japan's Honda...everything under one roof.

This year, the Frankfurt Auto Show was even special as the focus was particularly on electric versions and pollution free technologies. Even the biggest Mitsubishi Outlander (plug-in hybrid) and Audi Quattro series were featured electric as the car makers call it the 'future'.

All brands of cars looked top notch with glossy finish and unimaginable colours. The cars were posing all day for a million cameras winking head lights and SOS. The car frenzy lot went gaga over the fiber body finish and LED lighting.

We got enough freebies from the top notch brands that had magazines and badges that you could flaunt on your denim jacket. Some car brands like Skoda had organised a quiz competition for which the winner got his favourite Skoda merchandise collection.

Audi had planned its own presentation style by creating an exterior mirror wall and interior Matrix concept. The Quattro series and many more wind technology based cars were showcased.

Mercedes was indeed a showstopper as it had organised a special representation of its S-class, E-class and B-class electric drive series. About a dozen models drove these cars back and forth and made the crowd look spellbound.

The extra focus given for German manufactured brands like BMW, Volkwagen, Audi, Mercedes and Porsche was well seen.

Some Chinese brands like Changan, Korean's Hyundai..Suzuki, Peugeot's new Onyx, Dacia, Renault, Toyota, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborgini, Bentley, Bugati were all over the place.

Famous event of the year the "Urban adventure tour" by Range Rover Evoque was an outdoor attraction. The silk route travelled vehicle was showcased for SUV, MUV fans.

Top Gear and ADAC also had stalls to provide information on cars, rules and more. The new grand i10 and modified Duster were main attraction for Auto fans. All in all, a fantastic auto show of 2013.

A Weekend Trip To Breitachklamm, Oberstdorf

July's summer is the most beautiful time to visit Germany. Adventure sports like Trekking, Para sailing are popular sports during this time.

This weekend, we, a group of 14 decided to trek the Bavarian Alps and chose Oberstdorf near Austria.
In Oberstdorf, there is a narrow gorge formed by melting water from the glaciers. Its popularly known as Breitachklamm.

The gorge is beautiful and created by the stream (mountain river Breitach) over thousands of years. Its a low sunlight area and gives a feel of air conditioning. For thirsty trekkers, this is one heavenly place.

According to history, Breitachklamm was formed about 10,000 years ago. Itseems the glaciers eroded the softer rock and harder ones remained.

There is also a tunnel that takes you to the other side of the trekking track. The river water is emerald green and freezing.

It took us about 5 hours to trek and we reached the Austrian border by evening.  For photographers, this is one place to visit.

Konigsee, Berchtesgaden: Beautiful Bavarian Lake

Not many know that Bavaria (South Germany), which is close to Switzerland, is as natural and colourful paradise. Its beautiful lakes, snow caped ranges, landscapes, wooden houses look very picturesque and imaginary.

Recently, we planned a weekend trip to Germany's deepest lakes, the Konigsee. With a Bayern ticket we travelled from Munich to Berchtesgaden. From there, a bus takes to Konigsee.

Konigsee is camouflaged in the Alps. Its pure, its green and very cold. Travellers can take a ferry ride in these electric boats.

These boats are Photon operated and can board about 30 - 40. The boats are made of wood and the seat cushions are designed as life boats.

The water is very clean and people too maintain it. The boats designed for ferries are pollution free. They are even sound free and do not disturb the animals of Berchtesgaden National Park.

Tourists need not carry food as there are good number of restaurants that serve Italian and German cuisine.

Best Part Of The Trip:
Our boats men played the trumpet when we were at the centre of Konigsee and I remember the echos of every note from the hills.

Our guide also told us more about the lake, the hills and the Eagle's Nest.

As we went further, we could view a beautiful White monument with an attractive Red dome. Its called St. Bartholomew, the sacred Catholic cathedral.

We could get down at St. Bartholomew, to visit the Cathedral and click some pictures. You can also relish some Fish and Wine here.

Other Tourist Attractions: Eagle's Nest, Berchtesgaden National Park, Rope Way Ride, Trekking and Skiing.

Shopping: Your can shop the famous mineral salt lamps and jewellery here.

Do not miss to visit Konigsee if you plan a travel to Munich.

Photos Of Augsburg's Beautiful Zoo

Augsburg takes a very good care of animals and welcome to its famous Zoo. About 15 minutes away from the city (Moritzplatz), route number 32 takes you directly to the mini Animal planet.

What surprised me the most is the way Augsburgers take care of animals. The ambiance is just appropriate for each living creature here.

Its quiet and colourful. Take a look at some of the most recent clicks and a funny video of Augsburg Zoo.

Let me first introduce you to the entire forest setup

There are many marine animals such as Seals, Walruses and Penguins.

It also exhibits different types of birds from all over the world.

Flamingoes are too many in number here and we got to see them sleeping on one foot.

All in all, it was a wonderful experience for us and also a half day tour this summer.
