A Weekend Trip To Breitachklamm, Oberstdorf

July's summer is the most beautiful time to visit Germany. Adventure sports like Trekking, Para sailing are popular sports during this time.

This weekend, we, a group of 14 decided to trek the Bavarian Alps and chose Oberstdorf near Austria.
In Oberstdorf, there is a narrow gorge formed by melting water from the glaciers. Its popularly known as Breitachklamm.

The gorge is beautiful and created by the stream (mountain river Breitach) over thousands of years. Its a low sunlight area and gives a feel of air conditioning. For thirsty trekkers, this is one heavenly place.

According to history, Breitachklamm was formed about 10,000 years ago. Itseems the glaciers eroded the softer rock and harder ones remained.

There is also a tunnel that takes you to the other side of the trekking track. The river water is emerald green and freezing.

It took us about 5 hours to trek and we reached the Austrian border by evening.  For photographers, this is one place to visit.

Innsbruck, Austria - The Misty Paradise

Innsbruck, Austria is one of the most scenic destinations of Europe. Especially on the misty months, July and August. The weather is just right for a relaxing holiday and we were here, at Europe's most quiet and scenic spot.

At Innsbruck, you can experience peace and Spa feeling. There are a number of Homestays amidst beautiful Alps that offer you good price for a stay.

The best way to discover Innsbruck is by renting a car as you can enjoy private time and also make a stay far away from the busy city centre.

We stayed at Hotel Regina, about 30 kms away from the City centre and just a mile away from the Swarovski Crystal World ( Swarovski Kristallwelten).

The Swarovski Crystal World is a must see place for women as they can shop those delicate crystals to match their evening outfits.

Another reason to shop here is for the ample choices and discounted prices that is almost 20% less compared to outlets around world.

Pay a visit to Innsbruck this Summer, and also, to the Swarovski museum.

Easter In Europe

Easter is here and Europe is the most colourful time to visit after Christmas. We were in Salzburg, Austria this year and they call it Ostern. Itseems its snowing this Easter 2013 after nearly 5 decades and it was so rare for travellers to view colourful Easter eggs on leaf less bald trees.

Anyways, the sightseeing during this time was simply awesome. We enjoyed the " Sound Of Music" tour of Panorama travels and Salt Mines. The journey was indeed very memorable. Take a look at these colourful Easter 2013/ Ostern pictures which was clicked in a Cafe in Baptist Square.

Misty, Music And Mozart: Salzburg, Austria

It was 2 weeks wait for the most awaited trip, a trip to Salzburg, Austria. Our cousins came down to Augsburg for a weekend and we zoomed in our Volkswagen Cabriolet to the neighboring Austria. From Augsburg, its hardly 300 kms and the journey was as splendid as Switzerland.

We, a group of four, had booked our stay in Innsbruck and our saturday was spent in Salzburg. We saw the famous "Sound Of Music" locales by being a part of the bus tour. The famous summer palace, the red dome church, the bridge, the Gazebo, the Pegasus fountain and the blue lakes, every single shot of the movie was covered. The beautiful songs were played in sync with the shooting locales and we hummed the tunes.

Salzburg is famous for chocolate cake and we wanted to taste it what so ever. The cake order got delayed and we were late to the bus by 10 minutes. The annoyed Aussie traveller passed a sarcastic comment but our answer was simple "blame the cake as its caused the delay". How could one miss something so famous when one has travelled 1000s of miles for a 3 day visit?

The next bit of the day was spent in the Mozart museum. We bought a music box in remembrance of the world famous musician. There were chocolates too in the name of the music Zeus and we did taste them. The voice recorders gave a brief about the artist and the pictures reminded our text books.

From there, we drove all the way to Innsbruck as our accomodation was booked in Hotel Regina. Innsbruck is another jewel of Austria as there is the most famous Swarovski factory. It isn't easy to explain the beauty of the museum. An experience that has to felt atleast once in life. At Swarovski, there is a famous fountain called "Fountain Of Youth". I remember a Karishma Kapoor and Salman Khan romance in front of the fountain.

We purchased a few accessories from the store and that will be my sovereign of Innsbruck. This was our 2012 journey to Austria, do let us know if you have anything more to share.
