Augsburg Cultural Festival

We suddenly happened to see a colourful group of young girls dressed in Dirndls and dancing to peppy music. The Augsburg cultural festival showcases talent irrespective of age, culture and country. It was a good pass time for us over the July weekends and we happened click these pictures. Take a look.

Augsburg, Germany

Today, I would want to introduce to the European bit I landed. Augsburg, the famous bayern city is geographically at the south east of Germany. It is about 40 minutes from Munich. A small city known for theatre, art and culture. Augsburg, to travellers, is definitely, the best city to stay as it is close to several countries like Austria, Switzerland, France and Czech Republic. The bayern city is one of the oldest and has retained the traditional architecture quite well.  Rathaus (city centre), botanical and zoo gardens are the popular siteseeing attractions.
To Reach Augsburg: You can hire a taxi from the Munich Airport (40 €) or even take a train (DB)
Best Hotels In Augsburg: Ibis, Altstadt and Etap (reasonable)
Best Restaurants/ Cafes: Pow Wow Coffee (my favourite), Capitol (near rathaus), Mc Cafe, Thor Bräu Keller. You can also find many pizzerias.
Indian Restaurants: Indian palace (at Löwenstraße), Razz Fazz Finger food Falafel and Samosas
Best Time To Be Here: May
For Shopping: City Galerie, Moritzplatz
Other touring attractions: Neuschwanstein Castle, Garmisch and Chiemsee Island

If you would like to know more about Augsburg or any other tourist attraction, you can post your queries through comments.

Why Should One Travel?

Dear Readers,

Over the past few months, I couldn't update much about travel as I had moved to a new country. Life in an unknown city is a new chapter in one's life, specially if he/she is crazy about family, friends and food. Bengaluru has given me all of that and I am lucky.

It's been 3 months in this new German city and have picked up bits of the language that has helped me have a basic conversation with people I meet. The city, undoubtedly, is cleaner, colourful and cultural.

I travel almost every weekend and Europe, needless to say, the most beautiful continents one would always want to see and capture in the golden frames of mind. I would call it a change rather as an escape from parties, getogethers and particularly, the TV serials.

I travelled Switzerland, Austria and Germany. I also learnt to cook a couple of dishes that can be travel tiffins (will share in my next posts). Desi food is our requirement no matter in which part of world we are. My close knit friends and relatives ask me about how I spend my time after being busy in a 9-6 job and it is definitely disappointing to answer.

I wouldn't like to say that I am a "temporary" homemaker as it is a known fact. One thing is for sure, people shouldn't spend time but live with time. How many of them are as blessed as I am to think what they want from life and even if they know, how many have the chance to follow the way. I believe that the main objective of everything is to be happy and if that is there, these questions are to be treated irrelevant.

For the likeminded, time is never a burden. Like the little drops of sand, those giggles and tears can be unforgettable for a lifetime. This little post is not written keeping anybody in mind, it is definitely to trigger the thought process of my fellow readers.

Travel helps us change for good, makes us get more modern in terms of dealing people. One should travel to experience the outer and inner beauty. Share all that you have explored while on wheels, help me by unpacking your secrets and mysteries through comments.
