Glimpse Of Frankfurt Auto Show 2013 (IAA)

One of the biggest Auto shows of the planet, yes, we were at the Frankfurt IAA 2013 (Internationale Automobil Austellung).

About a thousand brands of cars were showcased...with cosmetics, tyres and lots more. We could see all range..from the most expensive Jaguar to the least expensive BMW Cycles...from the biggest car like Tesla to the smallest Mercedes Smart...from USA's Ford to Japan's Honda...everything under one roof.

This year, the Frankfurt Auto Show was even special as the focus was particularly on electric versions and pollution free technologies. Even the biggest Mitsubishi Outlander (plug-in hybrid) and Audi Quattro series were featured electric as the car makers call it the 'future'.

All brands of cars looked top notch with glossy finish and unimaginable colours. The cars were posing all day for a million cameras winking head lights and SOS. The car frenzy lot went gaga over the fiber body finish and LED lighting.

We got enough freebies from the top notch brands that had magazines and badges that you could flaunt on your denim jacket. Some car brands like Skoda had organised a quiz competition for which the winner got his favourite Skoda merchandise collection.

Audi had planned its own presentation style by creating an exterior mirror wall and interior Matrix concept. The Quattro series and many more wind technology based cars were showcased.

Mercedes was indeed a showstopper as it had organised a special representation of its S-class, E-class and B-class electric drive series. About a dozen models drove these cars back and forth and made the crowd look spellbound.

The extra focus given for German manufactured brands like BMW, Volkwagen, Audi, Mercedes and Porsche was well seen.

Some Chinese brands like Changan, Korean's Hyundai..Suzuki, Peugeot's new Onyx, Dacia, Renault, Toyota, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborgini, Bentley, Bugati were all over the place.

Famous event of the year the "Urban adventure tour" by Range Rover Evoque was an outdoor attraction. The silk route travelled vehicle was showcased for SUV, MUV fans.

Top Gear and ADAC also had stalls to provide information on cars, rules and more. The new grand i10 and modified Duster were main attraction for Auto fans. All in all, a fantastic auto show of 2013.

Being In Bali, Indonesia

Eversince I saw these beautiful 'Bali' architectured villas coming up near Whitefield (Bangalore), I wanted to talk about Bali in my travel post.

OMG! what a creation of god this place is. The Indonesian city is made for those travellers who love beaches, art and culture.

Bali is situated between Indonesia's capital Jakarta and Lombok. It is the island of the Indian Ocean. Very rich in wooden art and carvings.

The temples of Bali are known to world as the architectural marvels. Even the old houses look splendid with temple gates called Candi Bentar. These type of guarding figurines are only here.

Balinese cuisine is also popular in Asian cuisines. For them, food is prayer!
Rice and noodles are versatile dishes all over Asia with french fries becoming the new addition.
Bali women, are another attraction, look as though they have just landed from heavens,
very beautiful and gentle!

One of the famous Balinese food is Rujak, which is, a fruit salad. The speciality of Rujak is that it is a rare assortment of unripe fruits with spiced chilli sauce and shrimps. I also remember eating a similar kind of raw papaya salad in Bangkok.

Although Balinese is the local language, English is predominant for travellers. For Indian couples, Bali is the honeymoon destination as its a close getaway and of spa standards.

Very travel friendly for newcomers and an addictive paradise for the old touristers.
Visit Bali and feel free to comment all the goods and bads of our blog!

Croatia - New Crown Of Europe

On the occasion of the 'World Photography Day', I thought to share with you one of most beautiful destinations of the world, with photographs of course, to substantiate as proof.

And where on Earth would you imagine this beautiful place than in Europe, too close to Austria and Switzerland, oh yes, we are talking of Croatia.

I call it most beautiful because it is natural and unbelievable.

We planned a four day trip from Germany. DB (Die Bahn) is the most comfortable transport to Croatia apart from car rentals.

Hotel Central in Zagreb was where our accommodation was booked and the staff were very hospitable and friendly to our needs.

Our first day went for day long travel but we had fun time playing games, sightseeing and chatting with fellow travelers.

Our second day was to Plitvice National Park, the most popular travel spot in Croatia. We left at 6:30 AM and reached Plitvice at 10:15 AM by bus. The local bus transport to the national park is every one hour and comfortable.

Third day had to be to the KRK Islands for the pebble beaches in the 'Town Of Basca', Punat and Malinska, a dream visit.

Shopping at Croatia is very reasonable as the clothing and footwear are sold in Kunas (local currency) and even at bargained prices.

Although we couldn't talk the Croatian language, we could easily manage with English.

Here are some details about the Plitvice national park

The national park is the UNESCO world heritage site. It is called the 'Land Of Falling Waters' for the same reason. There are numerous clusters of lakes that fall from 7 different levels and look heavenly.

Natural habitat is maintained extremely well. Flora and fauna is rich and the government has taken good steps in keeping it clean and plastic free. The rest of the world needs to learn.

Even the ramp built to walk through the forest is made of natural wood that is paint and chemical free.

There are variety of insects that are rare and beautiful. I still remember jet black and electric blue helicopter flies.

Fishes are massive and add to the beauty of the Aquamarine waters.

About Pebble Beaches Of KRK Islands

The Adriatic coast of Croatia is simply wonderful. The crystal clear waters allow you to take a swim and sun bath on the pebble shore.

Scuba dive, Boating and Para Sailing are also available here.

Town of Basca is extremely picturesque. The streets are narrow and colourful. All streets lead to the beach and look photogenic.

Come, See and Enjoy your Stay at Croatia.
And Don't miss to taste their famous Wine and Brandy with nuts!

A Weekend Trip To Breitachklamm, Oberstdorf

July's summer is the most beautiful time to visit Germany. Adventure sports like Trekking, Para sailing are popular sports during this time.

This weekend, we, a group of 14 decided to trek the Bavarian Alps and chose Oberstdorf near Austria.
In Oberstdorf, there is a narrow gorge formed by melting water from the glaciers. Its popularly known as Breitachklamm.

The gorge is beautiful and created by the stream (mountain river Breitach) over thousands of years. Its a low sunlight area and gives a feel of air conditioning. For thirsty trekkers, this is one heavenly place.

According to history, Breitachklamm was formed about 10,000 years ago. Itseems the glaciers eroded the softer rock and harder ones remained.

There is also a tunnel that takes you to the other side of the trekking track. The river water is emerald green and freezing.

It took us about 5 hours to trek and we reached the Austrian border by evening.  For photographers, this is one place to visit.
