Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route, Japan Alps

Konichiwa!!!

Well, before getting in to the details of Japan lets do a jaunt in Japan.

So let me take you to Japan Alps. How exciting is that ???

Lets reach out here.

Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route, Japan

Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route is one of the dream destinations in Japan. The route includes 5 types of transportation to reach the kurobe dam namely 'Funicular' (cable car), bus, trolley bus, rope-way  (aerial tramway) and walking. The route is just 37kms but it takes 7 hours to reach kurobe dam and back. The total journey is breathtaking with both scenery and technology used for the transportation. The route is open from april till november. The entry ticket price is 10,000 yen /per.

Best time to visit : Spring(Apr-Jun): This is the best time to visit as we can find the snow corridors up to 20 meters height and that's the highlight.
Autumn(Sept-Oct): This is the best time for the hikers with the beautiful autumn foliage and alpine flowers.
Summer(July-Aug): It is equally good with the alpine plants and strolling around the highland and winter (nov) is all set for skiing.

Restaurants/ Cafes: Each station has Japanese restaurants and you can find many around. But, for veggies it's better to pack food.

Other Attractions: Shomyo Fall - Highest waterfall in Japan (350 m).
Murodo Station - Highest located station in Japan (2450m).
Mikuriga-ike Hot Spring -  Highest located hot spring in Japan
Kurobe dam - Tallest dam in Japan (186m).
Trolley bus - The only one in Japan

Now all set to hit Northern Japan Alps. We chose to drive till Tateyama. We can reach here by train as well. It was an awesome feeling when we drove in Japan Express way crossing lots n lots of lengthy tunnels.

Finally we reached Tateyama.

Here we go with our first mode of transport -  Funicular (Cable Car). Even two cable car's crosses at a single point.

Next come the second mode to transport - Bus. The bus travels around 23 km in 50min. It takes you through the magnificent Japan Alps.
The unique mode of transport which I have bee till date is the third mode of transport - Trolley Bus. Take a look.

Now comes my favorite - Rope Way

Last but not the least, we had to "walk" for 15 min to reach this breath-taking destination - Kurobe Dam.

So here we are. I feel this place is worth of all. Let me know if you need more details. Please feel free to post your comments.
