It was our final year excursion from college and our class mates decided to go to the 'not so popular' destination called "Honne Maradu". Its a dense forest in Shimoga, Karnataka situated on the banks of river Sharavati.
When we landed on this unknown planet I went crazy looking at the nature's beauty. Its a rare forest as the river divides it into small islands. Must say that it is one of the best trekking spots of the world. There are many wild creatures in the forest and we are to make tents and live with the wild for a night.
Our guide, a specially trained officer from Karnataka government took a good care of us and also educated us on the nature of wild animals. Honne Maradu is a must visit spot in South India. Karnataka Tourism Contact:
