You Can Drive BMW On Demand!

BHP on travel was at its best when I figured out the ”BMW on demand” at the BMW world’s home
in Munich, Germany.

The BMW world offers a fantastic driving experience for automobile enthusiasts through their BMW
on demand initiative. It was the second time around that I had been to the museum in Munich but
it was the first time for my wife. The renovation has been done as a top notch state of the art automobile palace where each door takes you to an accelerating experience of car creation at its best; may be BMW335 (first few cars of the initial BMW era till the BMW M6!

A little more about the 'BMW on demand':

The BMW world welcomes you with its state of the art super performance M series sedans, the

M6 and the M5 limousine. I could feel the pump up when I saw those beasts flashing in front of the
BMW M logo board. A gentleman from the M group helped me with some information on what M
does and means for BMW. Essentially M stands for Motor sport for which the M group has a tie up
with BMW for performance upgrade of various aspects across all car fleets of BMW.

Hearing all this I couldn’t stop now, I waited for him to pause and asked, “Is it possible to drive a

BMW Z4 right now??”… he blinked and said why not.. let’s try our luck at the executive who helped
me with the details of hiring a BMW right then and right there.

They have all the cars in the BMW family and also with M series too for the driving experience.

Since only few people had known this option, they had it reserved on-line and I was many among the

few to have known this program just then. Hence I couldn’t get my hands on the Z4, instead to my
luck I got aM series, 135i Cabriolet (convertible – soft top). Me and wifey, now we were sharing a
high level of excitement.

This was a twin turbo 2,979 cc (182 cu in) I6 24v turbo pumping out 225 kW (302 hp) of power with top speed of 250 km/h (155.3 mph). Since we had 1 full hour, wanted to hit the autobahn where one could just zip through, the best option we were suggested was to the Munich airport, which was about 30-35 kms away from the BMW world. Since it was a pretty sunny day, waited no second soon after the destination was keyed in the Navi to hit the roof open button and cranked the mean beast…..

We did a total round trip of 62 kms and the fun of hearing the turbo’s blow off valve at every gear change was simply doping!!!!!!!! Did a max of about 210 on the autobahn 3-4 times and had to settle for it as the max speed I could do due to the time limitation.

All of this in an hour and just 40 euros was an unbelievable experience al together!!!
So, if you are in Munich and you are an auto enthusiast, don’t miss the BMW and the BMW on demand!
